It was January 1990, that Dr. Das Suman Kumar got his Ph.D. degree in Linguistics from Moscow , a Post Graduate from JNU, New Delhi (in 1986), young Turk, decided to venture out something new and enterprising in life as didn’t like stereotype life of executive class as practiced in his family. Thus in March 1990, a Proprietorship Company in the name and style of M/S KALIKA INTERNATIONAL was formed in Delhi and Moscow as 100% EOU of a manufacturing facility for Latest Fashion Garments in Sheep Leather to be exported to USSR, China and Finland. Soon in 1992 a company in the name & style of KALIKA OVERSEAS (P) LTD. was incorporated in Delhi and besides, Leather Garments (with 2 Production Units at West Sagarpur and Laxmi Nagar), Stationary and Medicines too started being exported to the said countries with overseas offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa and Kharkov. Overwhelming response and innovative product designs made this young Entrepreneur a matured Businessman and then in the year 1995 in Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan) Delhi Darbar got birth with a new profile – Hospitality (with its first Restaurant in the name & style of Delhi Darbar) – then onwards no looking back.
